Members can save up to 7 cents per gallon when refueling, while Visa Techron Advantage credit card holders can earn bonuses of 10 to 20 cents, as long as they make enough monthly purchases to qualify.

With over 14,000 locations, Shell is the nation's largest gas station chain. However, according to GasBuddy respondents, their customer service in general isn't great. Like other brands, Shell has a solid rewards program that allows members to earn discounts of 5, 10, or 20 cents per gallon when they shop at the gas station.

Shell Fuel Rewards credit cards are also a great way to save money at the pump. These cards offer savings of 5 or 10 cents per gallon of gas, depending on the card, and are limited to 20 gallons.

3. Exxon Mobile

Exxon Mobil has more than 11,000 petrol stations across the country, so it will be very easy to find one on one of your travels. Exxon Mobil's rewards program will allow you to save 3 to 6 cents per gallon by earning points on your in-store purchases.
